1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are stored in your browser and sent back to the website on subsequent visits, allowing the site to recognise your device and retain certain information between sessions.

Websites use cookies for a range of purposes: keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, understanding how pages are used, and in some cases serving relevant advertising. Not all cookies do the same thing, and not all are necessary for a site to function.

On the Verithos website, we use a limited set of cookies. This page explains what they are, why we use them, and what choices you have.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on this site are set by third-party services rather than by Verithos directly. These include:

  • Google Analytics — provides anonymised data on how visitors use the site. Google's privacy policy governs how this data is handled. You can opt out via Google's opt-out tool.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel — used if advertising campaigns are active. Allows measurement of ad effectiveness. Governed by Meta's data policy.
  • Microsoft Bing Ads — used if search advertising campaigns are active. Governed by Microsoft's privacy statement.

Verithos does not control cookies placed by these third parties. Their respective privacy policies govern how they process data collected via these technologies.

4. Cookie Duration

Session Cookies

These exist only while your browser is open. They are deleted automatically when you close your browser tab or window. They are used for things like maintaining your navigation state within a single visit.

Persistent Cookies

These remain on your device after your browser is closed, up to a defined expiry date. They are used to remember your preferences across visits. Typical durations range from one month to two years depending on their purpose.

5. Your Cookie Preferences

Use the controls below to set your cookie preferences. Essential cookies cannot be disabled. Changes take effect immediately and are stored in your browser for one year.

Updating your preferences here will also affect the cookie consent status stored for the main Verithos website. To withdraw consent entirely, use the Reject All Optional option and clear your browser cookies.

6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Below are instructions for common browsers. Note that restricting cookies may affect how some websites function.

  2. Select Settings, then Privacy and security.
  3. Click Cookies and other site data.
  4. Choose your preferred setting — block third-party cookies, block all cookies, or clear on exit.
  5. To delete existing cookies, click See all site data and permissions and use the delete controls.
  1. Click the hamburger menu and select Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy & Security.
  3. Under Enhanced Tracking Protection, choose your level.
  4. Scroll to Cookies and Site Data to manage or clear stored cookies.

  2. Click the Privacy tab.
  3. Check Prevent cross-site tracking to limit third-party cookies.

Most mobile browsers offer cookie controls in their settings menus. On Android, look under the browser's Privacy or Site settings options. On iOS, Safari settings are found under Settings > Safari. Third-party browsers on mobile (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) have similar options accessible via their in-app settings menus.

7. Your Rights

Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and applicable data protection principles, you have the right to:

  • Withdraw consent — you may change your cookie preferences at any time using the controls on this page or by clearing cookies in your browser.
  • Access information — you may request details of any personal data we hold, which may include data collected through cookies.
  • Object to processing — you may object to the use of optional cookies at any time, including analytics and marketing cookies.

Disabling optional cookies will not prevent you from accessing content on this site. It may mean that some features work differently or that you see less relevant information in certain contexts.
